The incident was reported to Yorktown Police on Monday, Nov. 4, when an Amawalk resident came to the department to report that her daughter had been bitten by a dog while visiting the home of Christy Gooden, 32, said the Yorktown Police.

An investigation into the incident found that the dog was allegedly unlicensed at the time of the bite, police said.

As a result, a criminal summons was issued for Gooden, police said.

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, Gooden voluntarily appeared at police headquarters where she was served the criminal summons and released on her own recognizance.

Gooden is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
